The Kosala School (Estd. 1979 ) has progressed by leaps and bounds from mere a local school to a school of national repute . Being the first Residential English Medium Co-Educational School in Western Odisha , the initiative to provide the basic education to the local and the nearby children has undergone through a tremendous transformation with the combined and concerted efforts of certain pragmatic cultivators of Andhra Pradesh who initially came to western odisha for creating an agricultural revolution . They established the school with a broad vision to nourish the children of this region educationally. In the course of time ,The Kosala School goes on serving superbly , striving tirelessly to establish the proper standard of education in this predominantly rural area , at last in 1985 the school
got affiliation from the Central Board of Secondary Education . At the rapid rate of change in imparting education at the global level and in so many facets of society , The Kosala School has been taking the responsibility in setting its own learning goals and in making choices about how to reach and achieve them . Within a brief span of few decades a tremendous transformation in making infrastructure such as double storeyed hostel building for girls and boys separately , a multipurpose hall which is now named as a conference hall for conducting co-scholastic (school based) activities and guest lectures in order to train the students and the teachers as well . The Dining hall has been constructed with a capacity of
250 seating with well-furnished marble dining tables and also a two storeyed building with all basic facilities for the residential teachers who can care and share with the hostel children round the clock .
The school environment plays an important role in augmentation of the learning processes of a child . Therefore, the school authority thought it fit to develop a garden with a vast array of flower plants, desert plants, climbers, a fountain, a kids cottage etc in front of the school building adjacent to the play ground to make the children feel the school a home .
The school is located in the village of Nuakhairpali ,less than half a kilometer from N.H.6 , a
place called Chakuli Farm which is between Attabira and Godbhaga of Bargarh District of Odisha . Parents and students desiring to visit the school can take a bus either from Sambalpur or from Bargarh and drop down at Chakuli Farm , towards north of it within a walkable distance there comes the school complex . Within 11 acres campus , there are almost 40 class rooms , 2 separate staff common rooms (Junior & Senior) , office of the Principal , office of the Director , B.M.A room , library with 10000 books ,magazines and newspapers . Big full fledged laboratory (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics laboratories are separated) , 2 Computer labs separately for junior and senior, school garden , 2 playgrounds , basket ball court , Day scholars dining room , A room for art and craft, music room , badminton court , volley ball ground parking area for cycles , bikes , cars , 30 toilets separately built for the parents , visitors , school boys and girls . Apart from all these infrastructures , Big size Acquaguards have been installed in different suitable places
for providing pure drinking water to the students and the outside
There are four double storeyed dormitories for senior boys , senior girls , junior boys and girls located separately in the hostel premises . These dormitories lodge the boarders quite comfortably as the school has been providing all basic facilities required by the hostel children. Junior and sub junior students are housed in separate dormitories . The bright and well- ventilated dormitories with attached bathrooms and toilets are here for comfortable and collective living for the junior students , similar is the case of senior students . Each child has his/her individual beds space and shelf area to keep his/her clothes and other items of personal use i.e Mattress , Bedspread , pillow, books & copies and other requirements etc. provided by parents . and toilets are here for comfortable and collective living for

A big spacious marble flooring conference hall is situated towards the south of its campus for multipurpose activities like meeting , quiz , debate, elocution , guest lecture and parent- teacher meeting etc . In front of the hall ,the morning prayer and the evening prayer by hostel inmates are held every day as a regular feature of ours.
The kitchen is well maintained to ensure to high standard of hygiene that prepares both
north Indian and south Indian dishes .
The health of the children is adequately watched over in the hostel . The school has
a dispensary with a professional doctor assisted by a Pharmacist. The medical facility
is provided to the students both day & night.
A SICK WARD
There is a separate sick ward in the hostel section to treat the ailments like chicken pox , viral fever ,cough , cold , aches and other air/water borne diseases . Special care is taken to the students affected with the consultancy of school Physician.
A massive dining hall is just adjacent to the sub junior hostel having the capacity of 250 sitting in a single batch . The quality food and pure drinking water from the aquaguard are provided to the students . To ease the serving of foods at breakfast, lunch and dinner almost 20 dining hall servers are working excluding the cooks and utensil washers.
For the safety and security of the hostel children , the security guards are employed in the hostel section to restrict the outsiders to visit the children inside the hostel . Parents are also restricted to visit the dormitory if that seriousness doesn’t occur. In junior and sub junior dormitories , the Ayas are there to serve the tiny tots in cleaning the clothes, bed spreads, brooming the floor, bathing and dressing the children for school and keeping and arranging the usable items of the children in proper places etc.
